Chain and Sprocket Replacement
Do I need to replace it?
TBD discussion/links to chain check
It is recommended to replace the sprockets when replacing the chain because worn sprockets will cause the new chain to wear much faster. Frequently, only the front sprocket is replaced with each chain and the rear every other. This is because on the GS the loading on the the rear sprocket is low enough that it wears more slowly than the front. (citation needed)
